Southern Bites to Delight

While enjoy a RV resort retreat we understand that you don’t always want to cook and stopping at a local eatery is not only easier, but a great way to get to know the culture of the area. Although it’s incredibly important to continue social distancing right now, may restaurants nearby are offering online ordering for take-out options.
So, what are your options for local take out with a southern twist?

Wolf Bay Lodge is a local seafood tradition, and prides itself on serving high quality, fresh meals in a family-friendly atmosphere. Furthermore, many of the dishes are recipes from the original menu including the seafood gumbo, crab stuffing, and stuffed shrimp.  They are currently offering curbside pickup for individual and family meals as well as alcoholic drink sets. The family meals give the option of one protein, three sides and includes a family garden salad and rolls.

Don’t let the name fool you, the Roadkill Café is homestyle cooking at its best. On the menu you’ll find old-fashioned favorites like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and cornbread. For a small town, southern meal, look no further than MJ’s Grill. With options like fried buffalo chicken sandwiches, shrimp poboys and BBQ pulled pork, you’re sure to find a delicious meal for every appetite. The grill is currently running on a limited menu so be sure to check their website for the most updated offerings and information on ordering.

Safety Tips on Take-Out Food

1. Make contactless payments online or via apps.

2. Choose only piping Hot Food that’s cooked above 158F or 70C and drinks in completely sealed containers that can be wiped down.

3. Take a tub or bag with you that your takeaway food can be deposited into.

4. When you get home, wash your hands or put on gloves and pour food onto clean plates. Wipe down drink bottles or containers with disinfectant.
