Tips for RVing with Your Furry Friends!
Schedule a Visit with your Vet
Ensure your fur baby gets the appropriate vaccinations and protection against fleas and ticks before you hit the road, this especially during the summertime when ticks and fleas are more active. Be prepared to show records at the campgrounds or resorts, many will ask for proof of current vaccinations before check – in.
Your fur-baby will need a travel bag just like you! Be sure to pack water bowls, waste bags, leash, any medication needed and food for your pet. Keep your pet hydrated during your road trip and give them pee breaks along the road.
Roberts Resorts offer a pet friendly environment; however, if you are planning to visit museums, beaches, restaurants, National or State Parks, it might be a good idea to call ahead and check on their pet policies to avoid surprises.
Pick up after your pooch
Always, always, always, pick up after your pet! While many campgrounds offer courtesy pick up bags, you should always be prepared with your waste bags for when nature calls. Picking up after your pet will help the resort maintain a clean environment and help everyone enjoy their stay.
While most of our resorts have dog parks for fun unleashed time with your pet, some areas require your dog to be leashed for their own safety and the safety of other guests. Never leave your dog unattended on a leash, even if he is good off leash.
The most important recommendation: Have Fun! Camping and traveling can be a fun experience for both you and your pet if done properly.
